Is Apple Jacks Cereal Healthy?

Based on the ingredients and nutrition information above, is Kellogg’s Apple Jacks a tasty and nutritious addition to your breakfast table?

While the original Apple Jacks are primarily made from whole grains, they do, unfortunately, contain a lot of added sugar. In fact, a small serving contains 12% of an adult’s recommended daily amount of added sugars.

That being said, Apple Jacks are low in both fat and calories and contain a wealth of added vitamins and nutrients.

Overall, sugar content aside, there are worse ways to start your morning than with a bowl of Apple Jacks.

Is Apple Jacks Cereal Gluten-Free?

Kellogg’s Apple Jacks contain wheat flour as a primary ingredient, therefore making them unsuitable for those following a gluten-free diet.

Is Apple Jacks Cereal Vegan?

While Apple Jacks, and most breakfast cereal, appears to be vegan, there are a few ingredients that some vegans find a gray area and may prefer to avoid.

The most questionable is perhaps Vitamin D3, which is obtained from lanolin, a substance produced by sheep’s wool. The colorings used are not obtained from animal sources but are often tested on animals.

Sugar is another ingredient that is slightly controversial in the vegan community. White sugar is often filtered with bone char to give it a whiter appearance. It’s impossible to tell from the label whether or not this method is used when making Apple Jacks.

Is Apple Jacks Cereal Keto?

Like many other breakfast cereal varieties, Apple Jacks is not suitable for those trying to achieve or remain in a state of ketosis. It’s too high in carbs to be suitable for a keto diet.

Is Apple Jacks Cereal High In Protein?

A serving of this cereal contains less than 1g of protein, so it can’t be classified as high in protein.

Rather than enjoying this crispy treat straight from the box, why not pair it with your favorite dairy or nut milk to increase the protein content? But, bear in mind this will also potentially add more sugar.

Is Apple Jacks Cereal High In Fiber?

There is less than 1g of fiber in a serving of this breakfast cereal, which amounts to around 4% of the average adult’s daily recommended intake amount.

To compare, Raisin Bran contains 7g of fiber per serving. So, if you’re looking for a breakfast to help keep your digestive system running smoothly, this is a better option than the likes of Apple Jacks!

Apple Jacks Cereal Varieties

While the original Apple Jacks might have been a favorite for over 50 years, there are some other varieties that are just as good, if not better!

Original

This is the classic cinnamon-toasty Apple Jacks that have been loved by families across America for generations. The three-grain O’s are crunchy and delicious!

Jumbo Snacks

Perfect for those on-the-go moments or tasty after-school snacks, these are the Apple Jacks you know and love, only supersized! They come in individual portion-sized packs, meaning you can easily eat them anywhere, anytime. The perfect snack for those who love nothing more than cereal straight from the box!

Apple Jacks with Marshmallows

How do you take a tasty morning treat and make it even better? By adding marshmallows!

This variation is just like the original with brown and green apple and cinnamon O’s, only with the added benefit of mini marshmallows. Kids will love this breakfast treat!

Where You Can Buy Apple Jacks Cereal

You can find this breakfast cereal in most major grocery stores throughout the country. This includes Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and Meijer.

You’ll also find Apple Jacks for sale on Amazon if you prefer to shop online.

Famous Apple Jacks Cereal Commercials

From the Apple Guy and CinnaMon to the Apple Jacks Kids, some iconic characters have been used to promote Apple Jacks over the years.

In this commercial, we see Apple Guy and the carefree CinnaMon stick racing to see who will land in the bowl of cereal first!

Another fun commercial shows the pair making their way to the grocery store where they find a huge stack of Apple Jacks, only for Apple Guy to be mistaken for a real apple and put into a shopping basket!
