Is Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal Healthy? Ingredients & Nutrition Facts

The original Crunchy Nut cereal has been a popular mainstay since it was launched by the cereal giant Kellogg’s in 1980. In 2017 they created a new variety, Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters, which are also now very popular.

They’re made of delicious oats, peanut pieces, wheat crisps, and peanut butter, meaning they’re a favorite amongst children and adults alike.

Though they’re notoriously sweet Kellogg’s has made an effort to keep the sugar content relatively low, but certainly hasn’t compromised on tastiness.

This cereal is another great addition to a line of Kellogg’s products that is much loved. Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters may well be the best variety yet.

Is Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal Healthy?

Because this cereal is considered by many to be a bit of a taste sensation, due to its sweetness, this variety of Crunchy Nut Clusters is surprisingly low in sugar. One serving contains 5.4g of sugar which works out at about 6% of your daily recommended intake.

However, they are pretty high in saturated fat. One serving amounts to 12% of your daily amount, which is 2.3g. This is not too surprising for a peanut butter cereal, as this confectionary is typically high in fat.

For how sweet the cereal is though, it is certainly not the unhealthiest option when compared with other brands. You will also be getting a good amount of vitamins in each serving as well.

Is Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal Gluten-Free?

Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters are not gluten-free as they contain barley. They should be avoided by people with celiac disease and people who have an intolerance to gluten.

They also have wheat which contains gluten as well.

Is Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal Vegan?

Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters are not vegan as they contain dried skimmed milk, which is a dairy product.

They also contain Vitamin D, the most common form of which is Vitamin D3. This is extracted from sheep’s lanolin, which is an animal product and is therefore non-vegan.

Is Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal Keto?

On the keto diet, the amount of daily carbohydrates you’re recommended to eat is between 20 and 30 grams. The amount of carbs in one serving of Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters is 24 grams, so this means that you wouldn’t be able to consume any more carbs for the rest of the day.

Although it is relatively low in sugar, the amount in a serving of this cereal could potentially be enough to stop your body from going into ketosis. So, this cereal is not suited to the keto diet.

Is Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal High in Protein?

The recommended daily intake of protein for adults is between 46 and 56 grams. We need this amount as it’s used to repair muscles and bones, and so is an important part of our day-to-day diet.

Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters contain about 6.3 grams of protein in each serving. This is fairly high when compared to other breakfast cereals, but you’ll still need to make sure you’re eating other foods that provide lots of protein for the rest of the day.

Is Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal High in Fiber?

This particular variety of Crunchy Nut Clusters contains wheat crisps, wheat clusters, and baked oats, which all serve as a good source of fiber. Eating lots of fiber helps keep your digestive system healthy, and also keeps you feeling full for longer after meals.

This cereal contains 2.5 grams of fiber per serving which is about 10% of your daily recommended intake. This means it does quite well against its competitors when it comes to fiber content, and as long as you eat lots of other high-fiber foods throughout the day, this should make a good breakfast option.

Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal Store Brand Alternatives

As you’d expect from the cereal giant, Kellogg’s doesn’t have too many competitors for this product at the moment. The main store brand alternative currently available is Walmart’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Puffs which are made using whole grains, cocoa powder, peanut butter, and caramel.

So, for now, you might just have to stick to Kellogg’s cereal for your peanutty, crunchy perfection.

Where You Can Buy Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal

You can purchase Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut Peanut Clusters from most grocery stores, and also online from retailers such as Amazon.

Famous Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters Cereal Commercials

This cereal is marketed alongside the other varieties of Crunchy Nut Clusters and is included in commercials for Crunchy Nut Original. In this classic commercial from 2018, a man distracts his colleagues during a meeting by crunching loudly on a bowl of Crunchy Nut Clusters.

In this commercial from 2017, a man goes back to a woman’s house and finds himself in a room surrounded by a doll collection. He’s a bit disturbed by this and goes to leave. But, as he walks past a box of Crunchy Nut Clusters he eats a handful, and then he can’t resist staying for a bowl.

The marketing campaign for this cereal is quite irreverent and whacky and portrays Crunchy Nut Peanut Butter Clusters as an irresistible and fun treat that can be eaten for breakfast or as a snack at any time of day.
